About: Argentina, a South American country, is located in the southern part of the continent. It has borders with Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia. Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina.

Population and Area: Argentina is the world’s 8th-largest country based on area in the world with a total area of 2.78 million km². The country composes 23 provinces and one autonomous city – Buenos Aires.  The population of the country was 43.85 million in the year – 2016 according to World Bank.

Origin: The four most historical periods of Argentina are as follows: the pre-Columbian time or early history (up to the 16th century), the colonial period (1530–1810 AD), the period of nation-building (1810-1880 AD), and the history of modern Argentina (from around 1880 AD). Argentina became a republic in the year 1853-1861.

Tourism: Argentina attracted 5.56 million tourists in the year – 2016 which put Argentina the most visited country in South America and the 2nd most visited of all of Latin America, after Mexico.

Attractions: There are 11 World Heritage Sites in Argentina. Few famous tourist destinations in Argentina are as follows: Buenos Aires; Sierra de las Quijadas National Park; Calchaqui Valleys; Pehuen Co–Monte Hermoso Provincial Reserve; Reserva Provincial La Payunia; Moisés Ville; Iguazu Falls; Navy Petty-Officers School of Mechanics; Ushuaia; Perito Moreno Glacier.
