River rafting closes in Rishikesh on 30th June – 2017
Every year during monsoon the Uttarakhand administration closes river rafting in Rishikesh. This year also the rafting has been closed from 30th June till September. The reason for closing the rafting is due to heavy discharge of water in the Ganga during monsoon season. Rafting is one of the most sought after adventure sports in Uttarakhand and thousands of visitors enjoy this sports every year. The attraction of the rafting is camping along the Ganga beaches, which also gets closed during monsoon due to same reason. The beach camps are mainly located at Shivpuri, Byasi, Kaudiyala etc. There are many camping sites along the stretch from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh.
