About: The Greater Blue Mountains Area, with an area of 1.03 million ha, comprises of eight protected areas: Blue Mountains National Park, Nattai National Park, Gardens of Stone National Park, Thirlmere Lakes National Park, Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, Wollemi National Park, Kanangra–Boyd National Park, Yengo National Park.

The Blue Mountains, with an area of 2,690 km² is located in state of New South Wales of Australia. This area is a mountainous region on borders of Sydney’s metropolitan area. The Blue Mountains region is bounded by the  Lake Burragorang and Coxs River to the west and south, the Hawkesbury and Nepean  rivers to the east, and by  Wolgan and Colo rivers to the north.

The Nattai National Park, located in the Macarthur and Southern Highlands regions of New South Wales, is a protected national park. The total area of the park is 489.8 km².

The Gardens of Stone National Park, located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales in eastern Australia, with an area of 15,080 ha is one of the protected national parks.

The Thirlmere Lakes National Park, with an area of 6.29 sq km, is a protected national park. The park is located in the Macarthur region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. It is situated approximately 70 km southwest of the Sydney CBD.

The Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia, is a protected area.

The Wollemi National Park, located in the northern Blue Mountains and Lower Hunter regions of New South Wales in eastern Australia, is a protected national park within Greater Blue Mountains Area.

The Kanangra-Boyd National Park is a protected national park located in the Central Tablelands region in the state of New South Wales in eastern Australia. The total area of the park is 686.6 km².

The Yengo National Park, with an area of 1,543 km², is a protected national park within Greater Blue Mountains Area. The park is located in the Lower Hunter region of New South Wales in eastern Australia.
